I hunt open country spot and stalk so a pair of binos with rangefinder plus spotting scope is standard equipment. My binos are always around my neck and so is my range finder since they are both in the same unit. Almost all the game I've shot over the years has been in the 100 to 250 yard range. If I can get within 250 yards I know for a fact the animal is dead! My rifle is sighted in to aim at the same spot on the shoulder from 50 to 200 yards so often don't even need a rangefinder reading.
Last year I decided to upgrade my 25 year old Leica binos so decided to get the bino-rangefinder combo. It actually has a ballistics card that can be added for the particular caliber and ammo you shoot. It also compensates for elevation (steep up or down slope shots) which is super nice. Similar to other optics you get what you pay for! It's nice looking through clear Leica glass!
It's also super nice only lugging around a bino (that is always around my neck) and instantly being able to push a button on binos if you need a range finder distance reading. This may be the time saving difference between harvesting a giant critter or it running over the ridge while you are fiddling around going back and forth between your binos and range finder.
