Sub 300 yd Whitetail Cartridge?

I think this question has been answered by every cartridge with a shoulder made in the last 100 years. So can you give some more criteria? Are you planning to handload? Do you have a perfect action type? Looking for nostalgia? Want the newest hotness? What's up?

I don't need a new rifle but Michigan gave me an excuse. The straight wall cartridge law for the southern lower peninsula in MI is officially gone. Im considering a new cartridge. I legit will never fire this thing further than 300 yds in the field. Likely much shorter than that most the time. If I plan to shoot further, I have other rifles.

6.5 Creed
7 SAUM

Criteria:
No magnum
Short action
No brake (Im an IL resident, so no suppressor either)
Considering a 6mm, 6GT / 6 creed maybe

What say you?

Seems tailor made for a 6 creed/95 ballistic tip combo.

Assuming you need 6mm minimum for hunting?

Super weird for sure. I guess I can see it more in an AR, I assumed bolt gun.

Did you find the tips anywhere?

I had a 22ARC ar. I was trying to dial in the gas system and it was breaking the tips off the 88eldms consistently. The tips were getting suck behind the bolt, in the mags, and in the chamber causing it to not chamber a round. I never took photos and got it sorted out, but it would be easy to replicate.

A 30-30 lever action for me also. I know op said no suppressor but my new Henry Protector Carbine with a can is great. It’s plenty accurate and I would trust it for the conditions described.

Having just completed the S2H shooting school/bear hunt and seeing 3x bears taken with a .223/77TMK combo, I would say:

1. 223 REM
2. 22 ARC
3. 22 CM
4. 6 ARC

The 4th bear taken was with 6XC/107 TMK
