Installed a raptor FS on a new elite ethos. I've checked every screw on the bow taken the sight off etc. I dont really want to re-do my peep this close to season... but in "super slow-mo" on my phone it appears that heavier peep is whipping back and forth several times, so im guessing that's causing the twang? I put a monkey tail thing on the top of the string and it was a little better. Next I suppose ill try to move the tail to the bottom. Don't really want two on there.. as im only getting about 270FPS (70lbs, 30" draw) with performance mods on it. Any lower and I should of just stuck with my 2010 bowtech sniper 😂 any help would be sweet. Thanks!

I should add i didnt just get the bow, its been shooting great all summer. Just a guy rolled up next to me on some state land today and his hoyt was not twangin'

Adjust your string stopper in our out. Your ideal starting point should be “almost touching” such that only a piece of paper should be able to fit between the string and the stopper and then adjust from there. Otherwise, your thought of a loose screw such as on the sight or quiver is probably the culprit. Good luck.

If you cams aren't rolling over perfectly, that will send more oscillation into your string....double check that first. Some bows do better when one cam is slightly advanced- usually the top. Something to check and play with in a draw board.

There is a sweet spot for those string silencers...though its more of a factor on trad bows.

Try playing around with the silencer location, that should help.

Thanks! Yeah elite said touching.. put it a 1/32nd away and seems to like that better... too close to season to really try a new peep or something. Haha. Shoots great.. so ill probably just run with it as opposed to tweaking anything else.
