Kotaman, what makes this harness a winner compared to the other ones you have had? Just curious

i was really interested in this harness but hit market just a little too late for my hunt this year. Curious how this one is better for you.

I'd be curious about how a Swaro 8x32el fits. They are on the small side and they bounce around in many harnesses.

The open back reminds my of the original Kuiu, I often found pine needles and leaves inside with my bino's after bushwacking. How well does this harness keep stuff like that out?

Tdot,
The height of the 8x32 is listed at 5.4", our harness will adjust down to 5.125" so this is within our adjustment range. Given the width and depth measurements it should be a good fit. The height adjustment is critical as the hood keeps the binos secure and tight in the harness, and your binos are within that height adjustment range.
The back plate of the harness is adjustable in height just like the hood, both get adjusted to the height of your binos. This allows the back plate to cover the back of the harness, it is not open like the original Kuiu.
Best,
Kurt

@Jpott3 thanks for starting this thread and @Kurt, thanks for the detailed tech answers from the guy that knows best!

I got my harness system a few days ago and had great first impressions.

The material does seem quiet, I was surprised to read Kurt saying it’s waterproof, it’s not your typical crunchy waterproof material.

I will report back when I’ve put it through more field time but it looks promising!

Can you give us a picture of the inside of the bino compartment? I’m already kicking myself for not ordering one of these as soon as they were released

I’m curious on how quite it is as well. Love my FHF but it’s not silent.

The harness is in my mailbox currently, will see how 8x30 CLfit and let you know. Kurt mentioned it would hold them but might have some movement.

The tone,
The interior of the harness also uses our 3L waterproof breathable. It is a smooth face that will not collect debris or moisture, in the bottom of the harness you can see the removable foam panel that the objectives rest on. I used closed cell foam attached with velcro so that it will not absorb moisture and can be easily removed to clean if needed. The front (the right side in this photo) of the harness has a structured foam/HDPE panel that angles forward to make the top opening wider and funnel the binos down into the case, this keeps the objectives from hanging up on the top of the case when going back into the harness.

the 8x30 CL are going to work fine, there is space on the width, but compression from front/top, so seems snug. The fabric is great, they will be silent. Really impressed .

Is there an opening on the back, just above the Made in USA tag, that you can put a phone in?

I’m curious how much potential there is for the exposed Velcro in the front to pick up pine needles, seeds, etc. I’m planning on a new bino harness in the near future and am pretty much deciding between the SG and marsupial enclosed
Same here. I ordered both and plan to test them side by side with my NLs. One will be going back.

You're the man, Kurt. You guys are killing it. I got a Krux Evo 40/56 last week and it's the most comfortable system I've every used. I stuck a 40lb bag of salt rock in the meat carrier and was amazed at how light it felt and how well it carried compared to my Exo. Can't wait to try out the bino system and the Grumman jacket. Mine should be shipping soon.

Sorry to derail the thread, but had to give SG some well-deserved kudos.

For me, a harness needs to be light, slim (not bulky), and provide good coverage. This SG harness is all of these things PLUS water resistant and adjustable to give a custom fit to any size bino. No other harness I’ve owned checks ALL of those boxes.

Anyone that has tested/tried the new SG harness that has hands on the OV Ridgetop care to comment on how they compare. Thanks

Awesome customer service! I’ve experienced nothing less with SG on other dealings as well. I’ll be placing an order as soon as they’re back in stock
