I ordered one to try out as well. How do the non auto locking buckles seem? I’ve had problems with them constantly loosening up on other harnesses. Also it doesn’t appear that the front strap adjustment allows enough adjustment to ride the harness high on the chest, is this accurate?

The only ones that aren’t locking are the ones that go around the side under your arm can’t comment on how tight they stay yet tho. The ones that lock are the ones that adjust height, I was very happy with how high on my chest I could get it as opposed to my AGC.

Question for anyone with both FHF and Stone glacier. Do the Stone Glacier and FHF use the same buckles, both size and configuration? I currently use an FHF suspension adapter to attach my bino pack to my main pack vice wearing an additional harness. Be nice if I could just clip in the SG bag.

Are you folks putting the rangefinder case over the buckle? Or further off on the strap. The Velcro for me is noisy over the buckle. Thank you

I’m trying it over the buckle for now but not sure if that’s the best way or not yet

Thank you, love the harness, rangefinder pocket with my Leica 2400 doesn’t seem a good fit, but going to mess with it a bit more.

HuntWyld - The side buckles are standard, not autolock. We have not had any issues with slippage, these are the same Duraflex sidelocks we use on all of our packs. That being said, we do offer autolock buckles as an accessory for our packs for specific usages, so those are available if you prefer.

PRM - We use Duraflex buckles throughout are harness and packs, I believe they are compatible. If there are any issues, we also have quick attach buckles that can be used to convert to one style.

BR Snow - While you can attach the range finder case over the buckle, I would suggest trying the extension strap that is included with the range finder case. It will replace the quick detach buckle on the side of the harness and move that buckle location out from under the range finder case velcro. This is how I designed the attachment, it keeps the range finder case tight to the harness and will not allow it migrate down the webbing, the velcro lays flat over the webbing and is more secure, and it does not create a hump where the buckle is as this keeps the range finder from riding level against your chest.
In the photo you can see the short webbing extension with quick detach loop on one side, buckle on the right. I used a coyote colored extender so it is easier to see in this photo. This extender will replace the 1" quick detach buckle attached to the harness. When then placing the range finder case over the strap, I suggest nesting it down as low as possible, this creates the most secure connection as is shown in this photo.
Also, you will see that the shock cord on the range finder case is routed back up through the webbing loop after length is set. The first batch of range finder cases we sent out had knots tied at the end, which will work fine once set as well to keep the shock cord from any slippage. However I prefer to have the routing back up through the loop as it is cleaner and provides adequate friction to prevent slippage.

Best,
Kurt

My skyline arrived today. The OV is being returned. The SG is so streamlined and light. If having a bunch of storage pockets is your thing then the SG or OV neither one will be your cup of tea. But I don’t like much in my harness other than optics. To much weight.

Got a question for you. My meopta 8x32s are 5.5” tall. So zero on hood height and .5” on the back plate. My question is, does the hood supposed to be hook behind the back plate tab or is it supposed to fit the way I have pictured below? Hope my question makes sense.

Squirrels,
The design is for the top lid back to overlap the back plate, so I would suggest moving the back plate up slightly so that the lid will overlap it. The back plate should be high enough for the back of the lid to seal against it, but not so tall that the lid catches on it when pulling back over while closing. Typically this happens when the back plate is approximately 5/8" to 3/4" from the top of the eyecups, however each bino has it's own footprint and depth that may require micro adjustments beyond the chart. This is due to varying depth of each bino.
I can take a few photos tomorrow if that will help also.

Ten Bears, no trick photography, availability will be the first week of January:)

Anyone thats ran the larger, grey Vortex harness knows that it falls forward more than most would like to see. How does everyone feel this one does with that?
