Excellent. Can't wait to get my pre-order. I was torn between Kifaru and SG, then torn between the 5100 and 7400. In the end, I went with the larger pack since I just couldn't think of a good reason not to go bigger for the minimal weight added. Fingers crossed I made the right choice....hope it gets here this weekend so I can load it up and do some hiking.

Charvey9- Packs started shipping yesterday and we will be working through the pre-orders for the next couple days in the order they were placed. Not sure if it will make it to you by tomorrow for a trip, but it should be in the next few days via UPS ground. I know it can be tough to decide on the correct size that will fit your hunting style. Once you receive the pack and get a chance to load it up with your gear and test it out, if you decide the 5100 would work better just drop me an email and we would be happy to trade out the bag for you. We want to make sure you get the pack that meets your needs.
Thanks,
Kurt

I'm going to be down from Helena working in Bozeman today and was just curious if Schnees had the packs in stock yet. I was there last weekend and they didn't have them yet. I have my eye on the 7400.

Thanks

Brewer427- The downtown store does not have any packs on display yet, every available pack has been ear marked for shipping to fill pre-orders. However, give me a call today if you have time and I will see what I can figure out...531-7506

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback Kurt. Love that the frame is compatible with multiple bags, if the 7400 is too big for now....just might by a 5100 bag too!

Jdog – With the minimalist philosophy it seems there is always that balance between function and convenience. What is an absolute necessity and what is just nice to have, of course all subject to personal preference and hunting style. Pocket organization has seemed to fall into this category when designing, what features are to be added at the cost of ounces. While most of my designs definitely fall into the minimalist category, the Sky packs offer a few more options for accessible pockets and cubic inches as you have mentioned. The lid is 500 cubic of quick access and there are 4 pockets accessible by opening the one center zip. These I designed to be areas for those necessities while on the trail so you don’t have to dig through the pack. I try to stay with a sleek profile without the external pockets to hang up on brush and gather moisture/snow, which I have found a nuisance in alders and late season weather. This being said, I am always open to customer ideas and preferences as that is how many of the features of the new Sky bags came about. There is always room for improvement and advancing designs to meet customer's needs.
Thanks
Kurt

Thanks Kurt. Appreciate the response and the pack looks pretty solid for mtn hunting. I am saving my nickels this year for a Kifaru Sawtooth and stove but this packs looks very functional and sleek.

Brewer427- We will have the the display at Schnee's updated next week, so you should be set to check them out next time you are in town. Feel free to call to make sure what you are interested is in the display.

Jdog- I got to spend a little time this year late season with a stove in camp, it was a very welcome change from cold camping in November. I am sure you will be very pleased with your purchase.

I've been putting the Krux frame through its paces... First of all, you won't believe the weight... I looked back in the box because I was sure Kurt forgot to pack something! Second, get some weight in it... It handles weight very well! I've had 150# on it and the stability is better than my Crew Cab at half the weight. I think you will be very happy...

Got my 7400 today. It is HUGE! If I ever need to run away from home, I'm set. Can't wait to throw some weight in it and get out this weekend.

Here ya go. filled with sleeping bags and pillows, nothing in the lid. Gonna have to think on this a bit....not sure that I'll ever have that much gear...plus the loadshelf. Might need to downsize.

Thanks for posting. You do make that bag look big. But seriously, you will never be scratching your head for space, and that monster pack weighs nothing. Win, win.
