The pack looks great, I really enjoyed the video showing it down in daypack mode. The 5100 looks perfect for my style.

One last question. Not sure I ever heard if the lumbar pad is standard with the sky series, and if so is it removable?

Great video Kurt. Looks super versatile for sure!! I like how it can go into bivy mode quickly.

If I had one suggestion I'd say to redo your video so the GIANT dall ram is not in there to distract us. Seriously that thing looks like a corkscrew!!! Awesome!

The SG pack with the 3 piece belt will be an awesome setup for sure!!!

Kipper09 - The frame can be ordered with either the one piece, full wrap belt or the 3 piece belt. The 1 piece belt is the same thickness throughout the belt while the 3 piece belt has a removable lumbar pad in which the thickness can be adjusted to the user's preference. I offer both options as some customer's prefer the original 1 piece belt while others have requested an adjustable 3 piece. Much of the decision comes down to past experience with whichever design has worked for you and your personal preference. For me, I do not do well with an aggressive lumbar pad so I prefer the 1 piece. However for, those that prefer more lumbar pressure and support I would suggest the 3 piece belt as it is adjustable.

Thanks again for all the input and comments, happy to hear the design is well received.

Thanks for the video Kurt! I love the tall and slim, behind your back design of that 5100. The Sitka Bivy 45 I used to run could be set up similar with the lid straps clipping into optional clips on the pack bag, but it wasn't as seamless and weather tight. I loved having the versatility though. It might be next year before I have the extra money to get into one, but this one is at the top of my list. Would love to see a side by side video with all of your packs to compare size. I know you're busy with shows right now, so maybe in a couple of months. Thanks for all your input here.

Dang, the 5100 looks like my dream pack.

Love the ease of access to spotter & tripod, as well as those 4 pockets in the center zip.

Not to mention I'd cut probably 2.5-3 lbs in weight.....

Might have to find a way to get myself into one of these before September

I had looked at SG packs last year, but wasn't excited. These new bags have me excited. Some very simple, yet functional features. Oh, and that dall is a cannon.

Hey Kurt I have the older version solo with the attached load shelf if I get the new load shelf how do I go about removing the one attached to the bag?

Derek - Removing the attached load shelf is actually quite easy, I have done this several times for guys that prefer to just the detachable shelf as you mentioned. I cut the shelf off as close to the seam as possible, it is safest to do it with a pair of scissors and not razor knife. The removal will not effect the integrity of the seam or pack at all, just be careful to not get too close to the internal seam or stitching. It is better to leave a little excess opposed to damaging the seam. Once I have the shelf removed, I use a stick lighter along the edge that was just cut off to seal the fabric edge and prevent fraying. Just be careful to not put the fabric directly over the flame as you can't control the heat, I bring the flame from the top down to the fabric, this is why I use a stick lighter. If there are any questions feel free to give me a call or email, I would also be willing to do it for you if you prefer.
Thanks - Kurt

This is like a true one pack does all. From day hunts, multi day hunts, game hauling, expedition style hunts.....

Is the only place you can handle these in person up in Bozeman?

It's gonna be a tough choice between sky and a Barney's.

Nice work Kurt and those at SG!
