Does anyone find that after you’ve packed into spike camp and then using your 5900 for just a daypack, it’s a lot to haul around for what you need for the day.

Maybe wishing you had something smaller?

Considering purchasing a used one.

If I'm going on on a multi-day hunting trip, I'll need the room for not only getting my camp out but hopefully for an animal. I have one that is 6500ci. I just compress it down with straps and get after it. All you have to do is take the time to do it correctly and then go hunting.

I've never been on a hunt like this and wished I had a smaller pack.

Ive got a sky talus 6900 that I use all the time for day hunting. I agree with the others that with all the straps on it, it compresses down to where I don't even notice its any bigger than a day pack.

Never. The 5900 is a great day pack. Take the lid off and run in divvy mode and it's great. Honestly, when I had mine I wished for the 6900. Hunting solo using the load shelf and using the bag to double up on meat hauling for elk and bears and even big mulies the 5900 gets really tight. It's a fantastic bag though.

Yes, I prefer the 6900 even for day hunting. I run it w/o the lid. I prefer zippered side pockets
