I have the Bastion and the Blacktooth. RedHawk has them in stock and ready to ship at times. Mine were delivered in about 4 or 5 days. Bastion is the Sporter and I got the Blacktooth in the Compact as that’s what they had at the time. I did ask RedHawk and they replied that they are the same, just inletting is different at the barrel channel but doesn’t take a lot to clear the Sporter barrel. I cleared the tip of the fore end in less than 5 minutes and it’s floated. The inletting on the Compact, to me, is a nicer fit than the Sporter stock. There’s quite a bit of room in the Sporter for the Lite series.

Thanks for posting those pics. I've been playing with a Peak 44 for a few weeks now and I was curious if all of their stocks had such a shallow inlet for the action/recoil lug that the action sat well above the stock's line for the action's port opening. I see both of yours do as well. When I first installed mine I thought the lug wasn't seated.

You’re welcome. That bothered me a bit too at first but they shoot just fine. I did bed a little around the lugs to the sides of the action with epoxy. I didn’t like how the action could rock or would just fall out of the stock with the action screws removed.

It's not THAT short at 13 1/4"....

Mine is barely hitting 13”. It is THAT short. 13” with a Maven RS1.2 makes getting proper eyerelief from prone a bit challenging. Granted that’s also being driven by my action and inability to mount the rear ring more forwards.


Now I will say after spending a weekend with the stock in the mountains. It carries beautifully. Wearing a coat and a backpack the short LOP does work well for quick shots. Sitting shots are great.

I’m tempted to pick up another for my Tikka. The 1.5 lb of weight savings was great.
