I've had both. I tried the Stocky's VG first, I actually liked everything about it except the grip is FAT and a bit short, and I've got small hands. Sent it back. Bought a Bastian, the grip is much better on it. Problem with that one is that you can't change the recoil pad, as far as I know, if that's something you might consider in the future. From a QC standpoint, I think the Bastian was better but that's no shade on the Stocky's. It was perfect too. Maybe it was just the grip feel.
Having said that, I've gotten three traditional style carbon fiber 2nd's from Stocky's in the last 4 weeks, and they are barely 2nds. No raw exposed areas in the fiber work, just little cosmetic marks that will disappear under paint and texture. The length of pull is a tad longer than I would prefer but I can deal with it for the price. I like these quite a bit for how I hunt and shoot.
