What are people's thoughts on the thin 5/8" recoil pad that Stocky's puts on many of their stocks these days? I've seen it on the Howa carbon/superlite models as well as on the Rokstock and a few others. How effective is it compared to a thicker pad?

It works fine. An overly squishy pad on rifles is not the way.

There have been instances of some of the rubber peeling, only 1 of my 12 or so Stockys VG/Rokstoks I’ve owned has had that issue though.

Happen to have the model number of the limbsaver you replaced it with? I bought two off Amazon and neither one was the right fit.
For what is worth I used model # 10809 on my Tikka VG. Recommended on another thread. Had to drill new holes and the fit is not perfect. Functional it’s fine.

Are you guys adding the limb saver pads to add length of pull or because you werent happy with the cushioning of the original pad?
