Not sure if its been covered here. Are there any aftermarket recoil pads for the stocky's vg's?

Looking to put a superlite 7mag in one and the limbsaver definitely helps tame it a bit on the factory stock with vertical grip installed.

Hoping the stock will be more rigid and the recoil pad would be a cherry on top.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

The Stocky's come with the thin limbsaver so I think the airtech style is direct replacement. I like the airtech as well and think they make a noticeable difference.

I second the airtech style it’s makes a noticeable difference, usually one of the first things I snag

I'm not 100% certain the part number for Tikka is the exact fit on the Stocky's, but I just compared a factory stock with Airtech to Stocky's with the slim and they look similar. I can tell you and take pics tomorrow evening, as that's where it was going to end up anyway.

I just went to Cabela’s with the stock recoil pad, which is 5 1/8” long by 1 3/16” wide. The Tikka-compatible limbsaver pad was too short— it did not reach all the way down to the bottom (toe?) of the stock. All the other limbsaver pads they had were also too short (700, etc).

Does anyone know if there is a compatible bolt on pad?

On a T1x I used a piece of plywood cut as a spacer but would prefer a readymade option.

Thanks! I will try that.

I did go back and read through all the dimensions of all models, like 16 pages, and there are about three that are a close fit: yours, classic #10013, and the medium Nitro grind-to-fit. The classic looks like it matches the original recoil pad a little better, but I remember Limbsaver folks stating somewhere that the Airtech absorbed more force. Photos are the classic #10013 and original pad that came with the stock.

I think my rifle is in its final form, added a bit of build up on the grip using marine Tex. Also swapped to the air tech pad. Got the Jolene S mounted as well. Should weigh about 8lbs 10oz as pictured.

Currently has the 16.5” 6.5 Creed barrel but the 22” proof 7PRC that I also swap to weighs about an ounce more.

Looks great. You mind giving some detail about how you mounted the QD cups and how secure they feel?

I received a stockys VG hunter stock that had a few issues and went back for replacement. Awaiting the replacement but one area of concern I had was the bottom metal (plastic) was not “flush” with the stock. Stockys said that is normal and it is not meant to be flush. It seems as though portions of the inletting were not deep enough and it was also a hair short causing the factory metal to bend slightly. I have seen on this site and others that some have had this occur but it doesn’t seem like everyone. Curious to hear if it is in fact flush for some?

Anyway assuming that the replacement I receive is also not flush and given I’m a bit ocd I am trying to find a way around it. Some have talked about taking a dremmel tool to the inletting however (at least on the original stock) the bottom metal was flush near the action screws just not along the magazine. Not sure taking material away would solve the problem. Wondering if I could epoxy or marine Tex around the bottom metal to get a smooth fit? Is this a dumb idea? Open to any suggestions…

I also ordered and received a High Desert bottom metal which should help with the problem of the factory bottom flexing due to the shorter inlet.
