Stocky’s Hunter VG Tikka stock

6 weeks from now I’ll have my stock. My intent is to put my srs hunter rail on it. Will post once it’s thrown together.

Just an FYI, the SRS Hunter rail is just a tad long for the Tikka VG stock. I ordered a couple of them a while back and I intended to put one on my 6.5CM that sits in one of the Stocky's stock. The pic portion of the rail extended past the end of the forearm.

Any pictures? One plan of action was that I’d modify the rail as needed to make the length work.

This is my take on grip and recoil pad modifications (and weigh-loss) for the stockys VG (tikka).

Grip extension and cheek riser are removable (swappable for thicker or thinner versions depending on who in my family is using it).

Rifle shoots MOA or better with factory 77tmk ammo.

Final stock weight: 20.8oz (including arca rail)
Final bare rifle weight: 60oz
Final total rifle weight: 7lbs 10.3oz, including 16 inch 223rem tikka (superlite), 8oz JK suppressor, Trijicon Credo 2.5-15x42, diy tripod (6.5oz), Wiser mini arca, scope caps, dnz game reaper 1 piece rings.

Stock and forend were shortened and replaced with dense foam.

Just wanted to let guys know that the 30% off still works. I ordered one last night to play around with.

What barrel contour is that stock?

From back ordered to shipped in 16 hours! I did order a plain unfinished one. I plan to paint it myself. Point is… don’t be afraid of the back order button.

I don't have any pics of what it may look like on a Stocky's as I mounted them on other stocks. I can try to get a pic of the length of the forearm portion of my Stocky's VG Tikka stock.

In a recent shoot to hunt podcast, stocky's said that it was about 3 days lead time for a bare carbon stock and about 6 weeks for a finished stock

That tracks with my experience. I ordered a bare Tikka stock and it shipped within 5 days of the order. I ordered a painted Savage stock and it was right at 45 days from order to ship.

I’ve been working on my stock by adding epoxy putty to increase grip/reduce length to trigger. I’m at 1.75ish depending on where you measure. I used this putty that ACE hardware sells. It’s fantastic. But you have to work fast as it’s hard as a rock in about 3-4 minutes. However you can rasp/file/sand in about 20 minutes. I then put a coat of Marine Tex over it. I forgot to add, this setup saves about 7oz of weight over the HNT26 because of the magazine. I only got this stock because those giant single stack single feed long action mags you need with a tikka on the HNT26 are so heavy to carry and bulky.

How many layers of epoxy do you have on there at this point? Just one? I want to do something like this with my Alterra.
