Stocky’s carbon fiber modification Question

I have a Stocky’s sporter stock on one of my Tikkas. I noticed it is a bit fatter around the front action screw area where you carry the rifle at its balance point in one hand. Is it possible to remove material from the sides of the stock to match the width of the factory Tikka stock? I’m an absolute beginner with modifying carbon fiber, so I thought I’d ask here first in case someone has done this already.

I would say no. The strength of the cf stocks reside in the outer shell
