What's a decent shot timer for doing hunting drills? Maybe a little pistol too. Thinking one could be a big help. But don't want to drop $400 on one.

My kids are usually my shot timer ha, but it'd be nice to get an actual one.

Thanks Fam

I've had this one for a while, par times, etc. are easy enough; not perfect but it works.

I also have a tiny one for dry fire too, I'm surprised I haven't misplaced it yet. AMG Labs Sidekick. It's great for what it is.

Thanks! Will it pick up dry fire "clicks"?
CED700 would not, pac III would not either, they are not sensitive enough.
If you want to save and get real timer the best value would be AMG Lab Sidekick, under $50 for older one and $65 for newer BT version. It will do everything you need and can sense dryfire click on anything out there.
Not sure what hunting drills you run but newer Sidekick BT version has dedicated hunter matches timer too.

the IPSC shot timer app does alright for indoor dry fire as long as there is no background noise.
At the sensitivity level that will consistently pick up a dry fire, it will also pick up the holster draw from kydex (sometimes) and nearly always picks up safety disengagement on my 1911 with a somewhat stiff and loud safety. If someone is talking next to you, at dry fire sensitivity it will pick that up and register it.
Reducing sensitivity to not pick up those ancillary noises will sometimes cause it to miss dry fire.
I've never used it for live fire.
