Stiffness Crispi Guide vs Schnees Beartooth II

Granites (edit) will be much stiffer if is like the original. Love my Navadas and Guides, but I don’t consider them a stiff boot at all.

Thanks. I actually own the BT II and one thing they are not is stiff. Maybe the Wild Rock would be a better choice.

I tried them both at last years Reno Sheep Show after several years of wearing Kenetreks. The Guides were much stiffer than the Beartooths. The Guides seemed to have a better heel fit than the Beartooths for me but the Beartooths were a very comfortable boot. I bought a pair of the Beartooths and have been using them since and I like them better than Kenetreks. Having said that, I going to try a pair of Guides before to long because I really liked the fit but no experience with them except on a showroom floor and some stairs.

I’m sorry camping. In my original post I was thinking of the Granites, not Beartooth. Kickemall’s post made me realize that. With regard to Crispi, the website rates each model for stiffness.

Funny you mention that. I tried on the Granites too and they are damn sure stiff.

Do you think the granite's would be too hot for summer hiking and early seasin hunting?

I have the Guides, they’re not too stiff, very comfortable out of the box, and amazingly lite. With the extra ankle support, they’re more stiff but I’ve been extremely impressed with them so far.

For anyone else interested I've got more than enough time in both now to say they're two very different boots in a few different ways.

I know this is an old post, but can anyone comment on the fit of the wild rock? I have nevadas in a size 12 and are good with medium weight socks, I also have the guide in 13’s but 13 which allow me to wear thicker socks, but I can’t tell if they fit good enough for a big ruck. Looking at the wild rock 400g in 12.5 to see if that hits the sweet spot.
any takers?
