Early sunset now - any walking, running or biking on the roads at/after dusk requires you wear bright clothing with reflective straps and use adequate lighting/blinkies. More than half of the people that I see wear dark clothes and have no light. College student girl was run down last night and it was 9 hours before someone called it in-rip.
Make sure your family/kids understand the need for this.

My oldest GS lost his other Gpa to a tragic accident while running after dark.
I practice extreme caution even on gravel roads. Fortunately traffic is nearly nonexistent.

Great reminder and sad to hear about this tragedy. However, in my experience it doesn't matter what a runner is wearing, people are either asleep at the wheel or jacking around on their phones. I've quit most road running as a result, but would estimate only 25% even recognize a runner with reflective gear and a large light on, running into traffic. Most drivers don't scoot over and I can see their interior lit up like a Christmas tree.
