Hey Roksliders,
We had a lot of requests for Western State forums a few years back and committed to revisiting the subject once we hit 5,000 members. As that number looms on the horizon, we're taking a poll and see what everyone thinks now. This would include Alaska and Canada.

The Up-Side: State Forums would provide a more focused place to research and discuss hunting the different states. Would be easier to find and post information and see what else is going on in certain states.

The Down-Side: Makes Rokslide's forums bigger, but more diluted. We currently have 39 forums. Adding the Western States would grow that number by 11. That is a lot of forums!

I see no need and think it will take away from the forum. Not needed but that is just my opinion.

You ever think of doing sport shows to get the numbers up. The big NRA show in Harrisburg Pa would be a good show to hit. Never saw a hunting forum at sports show.

I don't think state forums would be beneficial either. You would just end up with many of the same conversations going on in separate forums .

However, I think it would be really cool if there was a way to set up a quasi-wiki for each state where people could post state specific information like draw deadlines, season dates, recommended places to stop or stay a night, important regulation changes or emergency orders, etc.

We are not trying to get our numbers up! We are growing just fine. More so trying to offer what RSers want. We would rather have 3000 members that want to help/learn then 10,000 that just want to hear themselves talk!

If it isn't broke no need to fix. I like it the way it is. Simple and if you want to find state by state just search for it. You may come across something that you haven't seen

Please keep it the same. the overall tone and the layout are some of the things I like the most. Too many forums just gets fragmented, diluted and frankly uninteresting. If people want a million forums there are other sites with way to many members with lots to say...
