SRS SUPPRESSOR BRAKE

I shot a match with someone using this brake on their omega 300 over the weekend and it was so quiet that I had a hard time hearing his shots over the nearby shooters with braked rifles. I'm less worried about the sound and more about the muzzle control. Is there any chance there will be a version offered in the future that directs the gases upwards instead of sideways? I would be seriously interested in something like that.

That looks exactly like what I had in mind for features, but I don't love the price or weight. I guess if I eliminate my QD mount I would still be saving weight overall. I should probably wait and see how my new barrel balances before I get too hung up on the weight. That price though...

Price is why I went with the SRS.

Didn’t notice the rifle shooting to the left or right as long as it was timed correctly. Those shims are a pain in the ass though. So only use the SRS if you plan to keep the can on one rifle.

That’s my biggest gripe about the brakes that don’t have a timing nut. I’m a one can man at the moment and often have my can on multiple guns in the same range trip. I use quick disconnects to make this as easy as possible and I wonder how doable it would be to time the QDs so that the brake was always timed the same. I’m guessing this would be difficult to pull off precisely. I just need more suppressors ;)

The Abel theorem brake also does an excellent job mitigating muzzle rise, it's self timing, but only compatible with Abel cans. I have the unknown brake for my diligent/deadair cans, but the fact I have to convert them over to direct thread and use shims, it's still in the box of all my supressor parts. I just received my recoilX Charlie brake, hope to be testing end of the week.

Guess it could be possible if you're using the same exact brake on every rifle. Would reach out to the manufacturer and get their two cents.

I'd bet this would work fine. Heck, TBAC sends out washers to time CB muzzle devices with them. I'd probably try to get the adapter tight in the can so I wasn't screwing both adapter and then can on every time i was testing a shim thickness.

I actually ended buying a suppressor brake and have checked alignment on three different barrels that have QDs and they all align within reason but not perfect. This particular brake is self timing so it’s kind of a moot point for me now, but it’s good to know it’s possible.

I feel like it helped a bit with maintaining sight picture. 16.5” barrel so gas pressure is still up there at exit.
Mine is going to be on a 16 1/2 inch bolt action. I haven’t even shot it yet so not looking to do anything yet but just getting some information. I appreciate the insight.

Has anyone with one of these compared to a gen 1 recoil x on the same can?

I like the length/weight reduction in comparison and cost vs a recoil x gen 2.

Thanks for asking, having 450+ rounds on it now and think I can speak about it with at least some experience. I am shooting it on a 6.5CM. My nephew has had his about 8-10 (?) months longer on a 308, more than double the rounds, closer to 1000. Both bolt guns. Ah to be young, making a ton of money with no commitments!!

Mine is on the Nomad LTI XC and the nephew has it on a Nomad 30, steel. The increase in db at shooter ear is negligible, if you want to pick a nit - it is "louder" but you really need to be sensitive to it or be looking (listening) hard for it. so, yes, you can hear that it is louder but it is negligible. That is suppressor brakes in general IMO.

In terms of recoil reduction/staying on target - 110% improvement. Really, it is a dramatic difference for the better. From watching trace to seeing the impact (or miss) I have never been able to do those things this consistently or easily. A friend has the other brake, I have shot his 6.5CM and it is the same in my opinion but I am not going to go full nerd on stuff that doesn't matter.

More vents better? Sure, when you get to five or ten. Difference between two or three, nope, not to my ear or experience.

Build quality is fantastic, well machined and finished, and looks great. I will absolutely buy another SRS brake if the need arises or I need to replace this one. No shilling, not associated with them and nothing to gain. If you want a brake on your suppressor, get this one. I believe in being happy, you do you boo.
