After long 48 hour swing at work I really wanted to run hounds today. Alas I have to go back into work at 6pm so it would be cutting it close. Hounds go out tomorrow.
I could either watch the President get impeached again or go squirrel hunting. I chose the later.

Marinate them for 24 hrs., wrap in bacon and stuff them with Jalapenos. Broil till done.
Remove and eat the bacon and Jalapenos. Throw away the skwurls.

Been pulling the thread on this myself this year. Did hot wings with these dudes this past weekend- "limb chickens" is definitely an accurate descriptor. Unfortunately, all the public anywhere nearby is pretty slim pickings.

Grew up chasin tree rats in Indiana..it was just the thing we did..alot!! Moved out to Idaho and man they hard to find...I have one spot that I normally see one or two. Haven't shot them yet because then I wouldn't see any. Back in Indiana you can stand in one spot and see 10! Between the hickory and beach nuts. It is a past time that I miss.

Love squirrel hunting! Season just ended here in Ohio which is a bummer.

my absolute favorite way to prepare them is to quarter them and make squirrel hot wings. Some hand cut fries and a cold Strohs pair with them to make the ultimate saturday evening meal

Pressure cook, pull the meat off the bone mix with finely chopped onion in a cornbread mix and fry. I call them squirrel cakes.
