I have been shooting the Scott little bitty goose for 9 years. I was ready for a change. I like this one so far.

I am sure there are better options but this one fit the budget and comes with decent reviews. I was really after a hook design. Scott longhorn was also on the list.

Rigid or Nylon version?

I can't decide.

I have a rigid and nylon version of the Scott Sabertooth. I prefer the Nylon for hunting, so I just use that one year round.
But the rigid Wiseguy seems a bit nicer and more user friendly than the rigid Sabertooth.

What ya'll think?

I am really going to sound like a jerk... But this is why the pro shop style archery shops where good quality and great service are dying off like dodo birds. Everyone goes to kick the tires at the local guy, but then elect to save 15 bucks by buying online. Then we all bitch about the fact that our good shops are closing and we are left with cabelas, bass pro, scheels with crap service.

Buy from the little guy, support archers and pros that actually have a clue what they are doing and are not just selling for volume.

Trust me I'm all about supporting my local bow shop. I'm actually friends with the owner and have bought my bow, my kids bows, arrows, broad heads, etc. from him. I don't mind paying him a little extra because I know he has overhead. The reason I'm buying this online is because it's $72 to my door and he's selling the same thing for $109.99. That will be about $120 after taxes. That is a BIG difference in price and I'm not about to ask him to lower his price. Plus I figure if I don't end up liking it, I'll be able to resale it for what I paid.
I'm not one to ever defend myself because I don't really care what others think but I'm a big supporter of my local pro shop. Without him I wouldn't know what to do half of the time

wow, that is a huge difference in price. I see where you are coming from there. I wasn't meaning to be mean or rude, just making an observation

I've been shooting this release for about 7 weeks now and absolutely love it. My groups have tightened up and dig the no travel. The ease of fold back is nice and really like how the release is always located in the same spot after anchoring every time. After the first few weeks of using it, I made the trigger a little hotter than factory by turning it a 1/4 turn.
I would recommend this release to anyone who shoots index finger releases

I recently got rid of mine. Trigger was way too light and there is noway to push the trigger weight up. I got to the point where I was afraid to put my finger on it. Ive definitely sent a few arrows while settling in, not what I want to be happening when drawing on an animal. I went to the rhino xt and find myself shooting much better.

This is a pretty old post but I agree with everyone's opinion here. If you don't like a really light pull this release is not for you. I have just shot it a few times and I'm not crazy about a super light pull so I backed the screw out a lot. Like someone said you can't really reduce the pull weight but it does help it to not go off so quick by backing off the screw. I may even remove the screw like someone did and try it that way. Backing it out a lot doesn't make it feel like there is a lot more travel and the pull is really smooth either way.
It's definitely an improvement over the cheapy one I was trying to use. I'm thankful for the great Feb weather we are having here in NC so I can get out and shoot comfortably right now.
Anyway, I love the smoothness of the Trigger pull, the way it can be Flipped back out of the way and the BOA strap. Hopefully I can learn to live comfortably with the light trigger.

So I just received my new wise guy and boy was the trigger light. It was set to pretty much a hair trigger. I could tell right away but I wanted to see how it shot. I stepped about 5 feet from a blank target and drew back with my finger behind the trigger.

Once at anchor, my normal process is to slide my finger over and hook second knuckle and then pull through. Well heck, if I even touched the trigger it would go off.

So I have turned it about 5 half turns counter clockwise and it is much better now. Any one have a similar experience? Is anyone shooting it real hot at factory settings?

I like the zero trigger travel so far. Seems like it will be a real shooter once I get used to it.

Love to hear others experiences!
I love my Spott Hogg wise guy, however I have developed target panic and I'm punching the trigger instead of squeezing it and it has adversely effected my shooting. I've stepped away from it for awhile and I'm getting some coaching with a different release and improving. I'm hoping eventually I can go back to it with new form, knowledge and accuracy

One thing I might caution folks about with a really light trigger pull is that it can be a contributing factor towards getting target panic. I learned that the hard way and have spent years trying to reverse the damage.
I'm stuck in this but currently.

Like my Wiseguy buckle so much, bought a 2nd one.
Improved my grouping, release over a previous Hurricane Jaw release.
I Like the light release tension. Once draw anchored, wrapping my index finger around the trigger, back tension release. If I even try to "punch it", release goes off.
Keep the 1st/old one as backup.
The new one has the BOA tightening adjustment, really like that system. Time & use will tell if the stretchy strap holds its tension.

I would love to use a thumb release/TR , but I can't due to a right arm 15% disability.
Pitched too many baseballs.
With a TR, physically cannot turn my hand in the correct position and get it to my cheek side to anchor-in.
