Shooting a 70lb V3. 28.5" draw. Arrows can be cut down to 27". Looking to run 200 grains up front total. 300 or 250 spine? Looking at BE Rampages.

Should be good with 300. Buy 3 300 and 3 250, use hot melt to glue in and test which one tunes best if you really want to know.

I'd lean towards the 250's. I can't remember, might be a fair amount of weight difference from 300-250's in the rampage.

I ran 250's from my vxr at 28.5" but @75#. Had 125 heads and 60 grain insert with a 28" arrow. I'm sure you could make 300's work, but the only disadvantage I see to the 250's is the weight, and depending on what your doing with it that might not be a disadvantage. Keep in mind that some of the insert systems end up taking up a fair amount of shaft, that can help you run a lighter spine.

The weight difference is a factor. Ideally I wanted to be around 475-485 total grains and that will be impossible with 250s. But not the end of the world. I am going to be running Iron Will inserts and collars.

I shoot the same setup as you on my VXR and run 300's at 27.5 with 200 up front with perfect arrow flight. Thats with 4 fletch Q21 2.1 and nocturnals, Just over 500 grains and 15 foc

You might be better of getting a heavier insert (longer) and ditching the collars. You want to have some space between the collar and your rest. I don't know what the lengths are of the IW hits are, might not be enough difference in them to matter. Just like I was saying earlier, a longer insert takes up more shaft space, effectively giving you a shorter shaft, helping you run a lighter spine.

I think you should be fine with 300's. I am a 29.25" draw, run 27.5" carbon to carbon arrows with 175 grains up front out of a 73# bow.

With that said, I want to say my rampages are 490 ish with that 175 up front. I'd need to check.

You’ll be fine with either. I have a very similar set up, 250 spine with 200 up front. I have very good flight. Seems others have similar experience with the 300’s
