Spam calls are out of control

Even adding their numbers to my blocked list on my samsung doesn't stop it. They just call from a different "local" number. Seems like it comes in waves, I'll get a ton for a few weeks. Then nothing for 2-3 months, then they start the cycle again.

Im waiting for the day the FBI shows up on my doorstep due to these jackasses. I dont know how many I've told ill finish applying for the loan if they're willing to see what has a better flavor, 20ga or a 12 ga shot gun.

They dont like being told that I hope their dead mothers grave gets trapped by a cow and crapped on.

I have found out, once they start calling back, they may say it is from a different company, but its the same group of folks.

Scammers can rot in hell for all I care. They seem to always call me at the most inconvenient time for me, and thats who I let all of my anger out on.

The best thing you can do is not answer the phone for unknown numbers and check messages in case it's a wanted call. Once the scammers know it's a valid number they will keep calling and sell it to other scammers. Blocking the number doesn't work, they use a fake number. Don't try replying "STOP" to scammers texts, it sends it to everyone else in the group being scammed.

The phone companies need to stop allowing fake numbers, but they won't unless they are forced to do it.

I feel for those who have to answer unknown callers for business or work.

What I can tell you is do not add your number to the do not call list! I was getting a few spam calls a month so though I would add my number to the do not call list, now I am getting 10 a day. Turns out unless you tell the caller to stop calling and that you are on the list and you get their company name and can prove they called you again it’s nothing more than an advertisement to call you.

I have enabled the setting that silences calls not on my contacts and sends them to voicemail. No one leaves a voicemail. Same setting for text messages. Blocking does not make a difference as it’s always a new number. Best of luck.

Robokiller app works pretty well for me. It also has an Answer Bot feature that will sometimes catch a spam caller and waste his time. Then you get to listen to it at your leisure.

I get the exact same pre approved loan calls over and over every day. I made the mistake of answering once and pressing 2 to be put on the do not call list. The calls frequency went up immediately. I never answered again and block the number of every one of those calls but they just keep rolling in from a different number 5- 10 times a day.

Man, I hardly get any. When I do they usually want some info so I tell them to hold on while I get my info for them, then I just leave the phone on the counter. I like to think about how long they waited for me to come back.

Those preapproved loan robocalls are out of control I'm getting 4-6 a day too, and everyone I know is complaining about the same spam wave.

Real world fixes that actually cut am down 80-90%

Register on DoNotCall.gov takes 31 days to kick in, but legit callers stop scammers ignore, but volume drops.

Carrier tools T Mobile Verizon AT&T have free spam blockers turn on Scam Likely filtering in app settings.

Apps RoboKiller or Nomorobo they answer and waste scammers time, kills most calls quick.

Don't answer unknowns let voicemail catch if no message, block the number they rotate, but slows am.

Report to FTC ftc.gov complaint not instant, but feeds the system to nuke big spammers.

They're spoofing numbers like crazy right now holiday loan scams peak. Hang in there combo of the above usually drops it to 1-2 a week.
