Going through some of my older calls this morning I came across this rather rustic old call I assumed was home made but it says LC Hotchkiss Sales Co.

I can’t find much information online at all. Does anybody know anything history or have any insight into these calls? I’m mostly curious about age and how many were made. AI search results are unhelpful.

I know nothing of that particular call but I do recall lots of calls being marketed and sold over the years. Many or most came and went with not much remaining history to be found.

I’ll add the Forney calls to the inquiry. The company was run by Joe and Paul Forney out of Ohio and that’s all I know. They were marketed in the 80’s in the NWTF magazine. I bought a set of the pot calls for $22 :)

I found this on Canada eBay. Looks like it was in a different box that was for a Lee’s goose call but it’s clearly the same turkey box call that you have. I’d bet LC Hotchkiss out of San Francisco was a local sales or distribution company and didn’t actually make the call. They probably just distributed it under their name.

That’s definitely it. Thank you for the link!

The call definitely has a homemade look. I’d dire like to know more about it.
