Space in a hilleberg soulo?

Looking into the hilleberg tents and just wondering how much space is in a soulo? Like do you feel cramped or crowded in one? Is it worth the weight moving up to a two person tent of theirs for some extra space?

Yeah I know they are heavy. I just didn’t want to feel claustrophobic like a lot of 1 person tents are. Thanks!

I felt cramped in the Soulo. I went to a Niak and it’s perfect for 1.

It’s definitely snug but I don’t feel cramped. 5’11 170. I had an Akto before though so expectations for space were on par.

I’d look hard at a kuiu storm star if you want a little more room. Weight should be roughly same.

It may be placebo effect but with soulo I have a lot of confidence in its storm weathering abilities.

I use the Soulo. Similar body specs as Schmalzy and I find it adequate. I have to, carrying a 2 man tent solo is not an option for the sake of extra room.
The soulo's bombproofness inspires a lot of confidence when I'm on the mountain

If you're over 6ft you're going to hit the inner walls with your bag and head on a pad. That was the main issue I had with mine, and why I sold it

Excellent to know. I’m 6’2” and this is a problem I have had with many tents. What tent did you end up with?

Love the tent and the double wall setup means that even if you touch the sidewalls, there shouldn't be any condensation issues. That being said I'm 6'1" and do touch it at times especially with the warm 10F bag.
Worked great in all weather conditions - also using it for winter ascents and ski mountaineering.

Tried a Nallo 2GT, same issue. If I'm spending good money and lots of time in a tent, I don't want to be hitting end walls. If I get another Hille, it'll be a Kaitum or Keron. Scarp series from TarpTent has more room than the Soulo.

Keron is great for taller people. No problems with touching the walls there...

6’ 3” the Soulo fits me fine. I’ve fit myself, all my gear, and still able to carefully run my stove inside. If you pull out the inner and just use the outer for certain trips and it opens up even more.

I’m 6’ and about 190 and felt cramped in mine. Sold it and bought a 2 person kuiu and much prefer the space. I also felt like the vestibule on the Soulo was a little small for my liking.

My take: whether one 'feels' crowded in a tent is pretty subjective.

I haven't used a Soulo, but had an Akto, and even at 5'10", both the head and footbox of my sleeping bag would hit the ends. In rain, it often had outer touching the inner even when pitched taughtly, and the I found the condensation harder to manage than on some other tents.

At a quick comparison, the Soulo and Akto are the same internal length, but the design might mean the angles work differently. However, the Unna, which I'd always skipped over for some reason, is 10 cm longer.

That is true. But imho Soulo is a bit too cramped for winter camping. In the winter at least I want more room for cooking and all the extra gear. I have taken my Keron 4 GT on several 2 man trips and nerver felt it was way too spacious

I have an allak which is basically a 2 person soulo with 2 vestibules. I use it as a solo tent but not when I’m backpacking. For moose hunting or caribou hunting I think it’s the perfect tent.

The soulo is cool but I’m 6’4.

Soulo felt tight being 6’7” I actually found the akto had more room. Ran that for a bit, swapped out to a Niak because I am not camping with a risk of snowfall at this point. I wish they had a red label equivalent to the Niak.
