Southern California Deer hunting

Hey y’all. I live in San Diego and im looking for any areas down here that are worth the time and effort to buy a deer tag. Every year I get a D6 tag and make the trip up north with family and backpack in for a stretch. I’m wanting to double up this year and try my luck down south. Does anyone have any insight on which zones are tried and true? And what areas within those zones are worth a shot? I’m willing to drive a ways and backpack in to get away from the crowd. Anything helps guys thank you!

How about go hunt Catalina Island? (When I lived in California I had access to military bases so Camp Pendleton was an option. Also Vandenberg in A zone had a lot of deer....)
