How's it going guys. My dad and uncle (in their mid 70s) have been life long A zone hunters. They've seen their favorite hunting areas get really crowded in the last 20 years or so and they have no learned to adapt
so instead they decided to go for D6 zone. It has been about 30 years since they've hunted there but I think they had success back then. I have really enjoyed hunting with them, doing A zone, basically a lot of road hunting and occasionally having them drop me off somewhere and meet me somewhere else. I am in my 40s, in decent shape, not an athlete by any means but can get to the top of a peak. My dad and uncle however aren't in the hiking shape, especially with gear on. I don't understand their logic behind D6, from what I've read its tough terrain and requires some hard work that I am not sure they can put in without endangering themselves.
My plan is to get these guys an AirBNB nearby in Toulumne, and convince them to road hunt but I know these guys are stubborn and I will get some push back. I am pretty sure they aren't familiar with the area, they don't use On X or Avenza either.
I'm not asking for your favorite hunting spots or your secret areas, but do you guys know of any trails up there that we can hunt that are pretty easy on the difficult list so these old guys don't get hurt?
Or do you guys have any suggestions with campgrounds connected to some pretty relaxed trails? I have never hunted this area before, I want these guys to have a good time, but at the same time I don't want to have to carry two passed out guys out of a canyon.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
