Sure. May need to leave the tail gate down or engage in some body modifications if trying to load it whole.

You need to specify if you're hauling a base camp setup? You just hunting out of a motel? Just hauling hunting pack/gear and coolers, yes.
Base camp, tubs, tent, cook setup, fuel, wood, then elk, not sure youre fitting that in there.

Yes. Might have to do some creative stacking and strapping depending how much gear you have.

and a double cab is helpful.

Yes. It is possible. Have shot multiple animals on one trip and gotten everything back home. If you are concerned about space buy a cargo carrier for your hitch.

...... I use a cargo carrier when I am using my 4 runner. Easily transports a quartered bull and gear. Head goes on the cargo carrier.

Just went on a cow hunt with my son. I have an 04 with a rack and tent. It was tight with all the gear and a whole cow in the back. We got it all in.

I Get a quartered out elk* in the back of my Samurai with camp on the roof rack. A Taco would be way big enough.

* not on ice just in game bags for short trip home.
