Never met a Canadian I didn't like. That said, I've never met a liberal Canadian haha

I think BC is the coolest place on the planet and am all for a BC/AB separatist movement, without Vancouver island of course

A country bullies its neighbors and is butt hurt they boo them back? lol

Travel agents are telling stories of many canceled tourist trips into the US. 1/3 of international tourists are from Canada - states that rely on tourism are going to feel this.
You sound like the NR that says “what are these poor towns going to do without the NR hunters buying a gas and a six pack!”

I’m genuinely curious what Canadians think. If it improves quality of life why not? Stronger dollars, better military security (not that anybody would invade Canada), less taxes %, no more French. Downsides?

im canadian and never been interested in becoming us citizen (i choose canada when i moved from europe) ... still i do think we have to pay more for military and not only for the Nato but also Norad.

we still should be neighbours, good ones but up to the time trump is not stop his bullying it will be hard... he has created a good thing as now patriotism is not anymore something to be ashame ....

Yeah I’m not a fan of the boos.

Great game last night, I hope we play in the finals again.

All jabs and ribbing aside, US vs Canada hockey with the best of each country's players is as much must watch sporting TV as anything in my world. Absolutely incredible hockey.

USA looked like the more complete team to me but a guy puckers up when McJesus or Mackinnon get the puck and a little space in the offensive zone no matter how good your team is. Makar and Theodore on the ice would certainly help the canucks too.

The history of hockey greatness belongs to canada in spades but it's exciting where US Hockey has progressed to. Back to back world jr champs recently too.

It was pretty bad when the announcer asked all to respect our anthem and they did not. I will most likely never again set foot in that POS country again. Most of the people there are Richards. I hope the great people of Boston boo the crap out of their garbage song.

I know there’s a lot of people like me who are not opposed to it. For the most part, as long as I don’t get financially screwed over, I would be ok with where I live in BC becoming part of the USA.
My only concern is what would happen to the large portion of Canada with out much population? Would the huge amount of land without people, start having lots of people?

Gear down big rig. You’re acting like the booers

There were Canadians in the stands cheering it as well.

I hope the Boston fans take the high road.
As a Canucks fan I’m supposed to hate Boston so I should say, it’s Boston, there’s no way they are taking the high road 😂😂😂

Believe me, it is so hard to be cheering for Marchand and McCrybaby right now hahaha

Great game and exactly what Ive wanted to watch for a decade. Finally we have international hockey with the best of the best actually playing. Next year Olympics with NHL players for first time since 14' and follow that up with the World cup returning in 28'. Going to be some awesome rivalry and hate building up...I do think the Fins are very dangerous once they have a healthy D. . We are missing Hughes on our D line and its a big hit, just like Canada missing Makar. Was great to see the fights, but at the same time, taking both Tkatchuk's to the box for 5 minutes does not help the team at all. But it was the best USA has looked in a LONG time, and our future is strong with some great talent. Its been some awesome games to watch, and this tournament was a great idea for the sport.

All the Canadians ive met through hunting, snowmobiling, my work etc hate Trudeau, just like many of us Americans didnt like our previous president. I dont judge an entire country off a handful of people, and if you do, it shows pure ignorance on your part.

The fascinating thing is if this was reversed (an American stating he would like to join Canada), his fellow countrymen would call him a traitor and a seditious infection.

There are not "a lot of people" (less than 5% of Canadians a last poll) interested in joining the U.S.
Do we want a better group of political leaders?
Yes.
Do we know we can up our game economically and Geo-politically?
Yes.
Are there some aspects of the American system that are worthy of praise?
Of course.

But we have our own rich history, culture, values and a strong quiet sense of patriotism. Never mistake our kindness for weakness.

I’d question who is answering those polls. I bet there’s a huge segment of the population on the young adult side who would welcome better income, lower taxes, lower housing costs and an exponentially bigger job market.
I live in a house worth over a million dollars in the burbs waaaaayyy outside of Vancouver. The only reason is because in my 20s (20 years ago) a condo was affordable.
Young adults can’t get in the market when condos are a half million plus.

Patriotism in Canada has been dying for 10 years now. We are a nation divided into a million special interest groups.

You are correct to a small degree: 18-30 year olds DO have a higher rate of positive response (approx. 11%).
Having said that, it sounds like you had the perfect opportunity to move to the U.S. and have a better life, but you chose not to in your 20's.
Still not too late.

For those of us that chose to not move there (yes, i was offered two jobs in the U.S. in the mid 90's), we did so because we are proud to live here, work here and do our best to make it a better country.
We know the history of the Avro Arrow, the Candu Reactor, and the gutting of the West by the Eastern elites.
And yet we chose to stay here to be part of a nation we believe in.

The irony is that the U.S. is built on rock solid values based upon patriotism and grit, the kind you do not exhibit.

I don’t even want NYC and Chicago, so I think Toronto is the last thing we need.

Could we limit it to BC, Alberta, and Yukon?
