TLDR: Hot melt or Max Impact?

I’ve never used anything but epoxy on inserts, but I like the idea of being able to pull out an entire insert and field point/broadhead combination if needed. Anyone ever use anything but hot melt for this type of application? What about the rubberized adhesive that from AAE, the Max Impact, that’s also able to be heated and removed?

I bought a big bag of gorilla glue hot melt sticks and a small alcohol lamp and I’ll never go back to epoxy even if I go back to a higher diameter arrow eventually. Can’t beat the simplicity, dries quick, easily removable/indexable in boiling water.

I'd use Kimsha as is recommended. Get yourself a heat gun as well.

I have tried kimsha on my day six arrows and components twice and they seems to be good but if I crank on the outserts by hand I can still turn them. Any suggestions? Yes, I cleaned and scored inside of arrow with wire brush.

I run the inserts through flames while holding them in a pair of pliers. Then I heat the hot melt till it's soft, goop some onto the insert, hit it with flame one more time, and jam that bad boy down the shaft with a half twist. Haven't had any issues with it.

Hmm ya I used a heat gun to get it soft and then goop it on, give it a quick heat up again and twist it in. Are you cleaning the inside of the shaft with a solvent or alcohol? I am scoring with a brass bore brush and then just cleaning out with water on a q tip.

I haven't bothered cleaning them, but I shoot trad bows where the impact speeds are much lower. I have had an occasional hard hit break the bond a bit and then I need to heat it up and push it back in. Probably wouldn't happen with a bore brush and cleaning though.

I never glued the collars on when I shot Day6 with the Centric system. This allowed me to change point weight, and collar weight. Never had any durability issues either.
