Any ideas on snake chaps? I looked online and saw a few but some look way cheap (basically gators) and others are way expensive. My deer area is in some crazy rattlesnake country.

i haven't really seen a snake boot made for hiking the mountains.....i would also be interested in seeing if there is a decent snake chap out there----id wear some if they were only knee high. my way out the other night i came across 2 rattlesnakes in the brush that scared the shit out of me because i didn't see them until they started rattling when they were about 2 feet away in the brush

I've worn my cabelas snake boots in the mountains and they worked fine, not as comfy as my crispis but they worked. I picked up a pair of pro leg guards from foreverlast this summer. They are a soft gaiter that is supposed to be snakeproof, they are light and not nearly as hot as the snakeboots. I hope I never have to find out how well they work but they give me some piece of mind.
