just read through this thread. So 6 years later , how have these shelters held up ? how good are they in bad weather ?
I haven't used mine quite as much as I'd like, 5 or 6 nights each of the last couple years, or in crazy wind or anything, but I have no plans of upgrading to something that may or may not have much more to offer for 5 or 6x the price.just read through this thread. It's also nice using it with a diesel heater if you are car camping. Having this tent with the stove has made it so my wife will come camping with me in the backcountry in otherwise chilly conditions, whereas she would not have before.
That's true. At 4 lbs all in, it's not super light. I have packed it on shorter trips, but I also have pack goats for longer trips, so the weight was the more critical piece that slipped my mind.My primary complaint would be the weight of the tent. Other options will cut the weight by half or more if you a backpack hunter.
Car camping or shorter pack in this is perfect.
