OK all new guy to the forum, been reading a lot but this is my first post. So hi all. Here's the dilemma. I'm looking for some advice on a new sleeping bag. Colorado/ rockies, usually backpack hunts archery and possibly some rifle seasons. Two things I'm looking for lightweight, and warmth ( go figure). I'm a scrawny dude and I'm good with the cold during the day but at night I tend to freeze my ass off so I'm looking at spending a little extra for a ultralight 0 degree. I know that will probably be overkill during archery season but I would rather open it up and sweat a little than buy 2 bags. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
Lastly, ran into a fellow Rokslider on in the South San Juan wilderness the last couple weeks of June. Chatted for a few minutes about the forum. Anyway had a question for you if you read this hit me up.
Thanks all

Backcountry has some Big Agnes Pomer Hoits that are the older non treated down version for $338. The new version is about $700. I just picked one up. I have used a similar bag in a 15 degree version and have liked it.

Like was said above, I'd probably look into an EE quilt. I plan to try one next year.

Quilt guys,
Do you guys put a fabric on the pad?
Do you sleep in the merinos on top of the pad?
How do you make it comfy on the sticky pad when it is hot.

I am usually comfy wearing merino base layers (top and bottom) to put something between my skin and the pad. If I get too warm I unclip the quilt straps and open it part way or even lay on top of it. Keep it mind that it is almost never very "hot" up here by lower 48 standards, but I have always been able to regulate the temps this way just fine...

hate me haters but i suggest the kuiu bags...... the 15* bag i bought is ill and it is by far the best bag i have used and or tried. i am a kryptek user for all my clothing but cheated on my love for a sleep system that just works...... tents 1p, 2p both are legit as well. been up in washingtons alpine in all, multi nites in 50+ mph winds, rains, and heat with no condinsation nor any on my bag. breathed perfect and is crazy with loft. many great products out there but just sayin i have had 100% success and feedback with my side adventure trying there gear. kuiu that is. will never wear anything but kryptek for clothing but kuiu's sleep system is as legit as any make out there...................
