I purchased an 850 treated down hammock gear burrow quilt and an xtherm pad for under your budget and expect to use it in all conditions that I hunt in the Rockies. Quilts are a bit of a leap of faith, but I don't read any negative reviews as compared to similarly rated mummy bags, and the weight savings is significant.

This will be my first season in it so I can't review the system, personally, but if you decide on a quilt Just know there are a number of companies worth checking out.

Did you just say ill? Gasp

That's the only thing I saw in the post as well. I read it several times trying to figure out if there was something spelled wrong, missing letters, or maybe an auto correct gone wrong. As written, to me it appears as though there's something wrong with the KUIU bag.

well now....... looks as if peeps be old in here! pretty much sayin the bag works. i have spent enough nites to say it is a great bag and to be honest i am stoaked to stay in it for the next 3 nites for the wa fall bear season. "the ill" wording means bad arss for you that are on the brink of canes etc to get around...... either way good luck and have much success in your seasons be it a downed animal or a trip that met much to you and your imagination................
