Amazing customer service...I have one of their original down jackets. The new version added a hood and is a tad heavier.
The hood made the difference for me. I love this jacket. Its too bad that I have put on my winter weight and the jacket is tight on me. Need to shed some pounds here in the coming months for my elk hunt to Wyoming!

The new ptarmigan not only added a hood but SKRE also increased the down fill. So it's a slight increase in weight but boost in warmth also.

Got my setup in the mail today. Hardscrabble pants, merino wool long sleeve, and hoodie all in the Summit pattern. Also picked up the T and beanie in the old pattern. Will hunt in them soon, but from the initial try on, like the roominess in the pants, and the fit and feel of the merino wool long sleeve. I’ll do some field testing soon.

I really like the micro grid air max fabric, SKRE has used it for the last couple seasons on the Uinta pants. It's very soft to the touch and super light wieght and it drys quickly. I don't think it's a stretch to say these Alpine shorts are going to perform well when the temperature climbs. As a performance short I just don't see how they can disappoint.

The only thing I could see that would make these even better is if they offered them in solid colors for wearing them around on hot summer days.

I’m interested in grabbing some deadfall gloves while they’re half off and possibly gaiters. I haven’t been able to find any details or reviews on the gaiters.

I've used the gaiters a bunch last season. They performed pretty well for me. I'll get some pictures and details up here shortly.

These have over 50 miles on them. They fit easily over my calf and stay in place, I haven't had any slippage issues with the strap coming loose.

Features---
The upper is a polyster/nylon 4 way stretch 20k rated waterproof barrier.
Three panel construction with reinforced lower third.
Lower panel cordura.
1.5 inch thick Velcro front closure.
Boot lace hook.
Heavy buckle with rubber under boot strap.
Above the calf cinch to keep gaiters in place.

My first impressions had durability concerns due to the thin uppers but have used these a ton in sage brush and haven't torn or had a puncture of any kind during any of my hard use.

The extra tab on the bottom really keeps everything tight when busting though snow. I recommended a bit of reinforcement to the tab but haven't needed it yet with all my use.

The Velcro closure on front is very stout. The edges did fray a bit being pulled apart after the first couple uses but I just cleaned them up a bit with a lighter. they stopped fraying after a few uses. The bottom boot strap did separate between the rubber and nylon strap but seems to be holding without issue. I'll add that once set I've never adjusted the strap buckle as these gaiters fit both pair of my boots the exact same. As a reminder all SKRE Gear carries thier great warranty.

Definitely interested in the wicking and drying performance of the new alpine shirt. Also how is the cut, same as their other shirts?

I've been wearing the Alpine's a bit but haven't tested the wicking or dry times yet. These shirts are anatomical fit described as providing a full range of motion without excess material. The core-wick-lite is a very stretchy fabric but up size if you don't like a compression fit. I found the long sleeve nice and snug in the forecast arms perfect for archery.
