I am thinking about some new Sitka whitetail gear.

I hunt whitetail in NY and Eastern PA and plan on a little more stand work this year. Temps later in the season are 30-40s. It gets freezing and below but usually mid 20s and rarely below teens so the super cold stuff probably isn’t needed as much. Does anyone pair a fanatic jacket with a fanatic lite bib? I usually need more insulation upstairs and I am curious who mixes and matches.

I hated the fanatic lite bib. I thought for its weight it wasnt that warm and it didnt cut the wind in stand. I use the fanatic jacket coupled with the stratus pants and if it’s really cold the incinerator bibs.

I should have mentioned I have a set of stratus jacket and pants.

From what I gather here and elsewhere it seems like the difference in warmth between the stratus and the fanatics LITE isn’t going to be worthwhile. Per @*zap* above if I want warmer I seems I should step up to the fanatics.

I think this will work great. Mixing and matching is half the game with Sitka and I run my Fanatic lite bib with my Stratus Jacket and it works great for me. at around those temps. The new fanatic jacket is sweet and cant wait to run it this year but from playing with it around the house it is going to be a game changer.

Make sure if you order one you get one for you they do come in a left and right hand option.

I got a pair of used fanatic bibs a few days ago, they are pretty sweet...my sanctuary bibs are not going to see much action. The predator assault bibs are my go to for a bit warmer but still cold. They are very nice and warmer than you would think they are from looking at them. I think the predator assault bibs are a good windproof value. They seem to run a bit small.

You run the fanatic vest over the Stratus jacket and pants with appropriate layers under it you well be good for the whole North east season

Want to get rid of the sanctuary bibs?

I wear Drake bibs and a Drake MST full zip when it gets cold. I've started to wear a Marmot down jacket with a fleece jacket over the down jacket when I don't want to pack the Drake MST. It has proven to be very warm and comfortable.
