Sitka timberline pro

Weird. I was told otherwise. Maybe they meant they will D/C the non vented ones and come out with a different version with vents that isn’t the Pro
I heard the same. Vented timberlines next fall. We should be seeing an updated ascent pant very soon as well. I love those pants

I got a pair in lead. I’m impressed at how light they feel. I have a pair of suspenders on my old pair that work great in these. The pockets are an improvement, they don’t look nearly as ridiculous as the photos (at least the solid color doesn’t). They are loud..maybe a few washes helps, but the improvements to the waterproofed areas are at the sacrifice of noise. I’m a borderline 34/36 in Sitka, I went up a size to accommodate a base layer and I think the 36 is the way to go for me. The length is good for me - I typically wear a 32 inseam. You definitely will need to put the knee pads in prior to putting them on, there’s no way to do that because the side vents are mesh backed. The boot hook and gaiter will be a nice addition for times when a full gaiter isn’t needed, or another layer preventing water from wicking to the sock. Are they worth the price? Not really. But, they are more thoughtful design than the other options out there - a little heavier than Kuiu’s Kutana Hybrid, but I’d trust the goretex more than the Kutana’s waterproofing. I think these are very close to what Fjallraven’s Keb pant is, but a more generous fit with actual waterproof areas. This is a late season pant, for sure. Probably one that will get a lot of run with guides and heavy users. I think it will be my go-to for hiking in snow.

Following Sitka’s new name scheme, I assume a less technical version is coming that isn’t “pro.” It would make sense that those would have a lighter weight material and lesser waterproofing and other features. The Dew Point Pro looks exactly like what I’d expect the old stormfront would be.

These pants are extremely nice. The fit for me was excellent. I also fit the first like 308 pants the same way for reference. 34 waist reg length

3 big misses imo

1 is the gortex. If your not wearing a base layer this will be direct skin contact

2 for the price you dont include free knee pads?

3 the gaiter feature is nice but annoying to put on. I played with this system for 5 mins and unless your running a tall boot these with slip above the boot making the wortless. Especially if your in calf deep snow. They do have 2 holes for a strap to go around the boot. Once again for the cost you cant include this.

Overall without a pro discount idk if id keep these. And they also wont be doing the full pro discount until these arent “new” anymore. Im going to think on keeping them over the next few days.

I will say they are a solid contender as a top 3 late season pant. My choices for top 3 right now is
Kuiu axis
First lite lite foundry either one
First lite 308 insulted pant
