Some recent threads about kuiu peloton aren't very promising. Anyone have experience with the sitka? I think some other companies use it as well.

I spent two weeks in AK last September moose hunting. I switched between the new Sitka synthetic core layer and their Merino the first 10 days. For the 1st time I found I was more comfortable in a synthetic and finished out the trip that way. No stank...

i have a lightweight core hoody, and i've worn it for extended trips as well, and it didnt stink anymore than my merino. I was wearing a merino tshirt under it though. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I spent 17 days in the Yukon rotating two Sitka Polygiene base layer shirts as my first layer and the Sitka Midweight Polygiene as my second layer. I came away TOTALLY impressed and now rarely wear merino. No stink and the big bonus: Synthetic dries quickly. To me this Sitka Base Layer is best of all worlds.

Same experience here, 5 days with the lightweight w/o even rinsing in a stream or anything and no stink. Like Kotaman said, it dries SUPER fast too. Nice to have your back dry in only a few minutes after a long hike with a pack on.

They hit a home run with there new core series. No stink, drys fast and different weights for layering and conditions..... Very impressed with it so far.

How about the material holding up under shoulder straps, better than merino?

I ususally wear just a merino zip tee when elk hunting...sometimes I'll add a Contrail windshirt. But merino stays wet longer than I'd like, it the new poly Core tougher than merino? I would think it must.

So I ran the new Sitka core SS base layer for a couple of 4 day outings.....they performed well for a day, two at the most, and were then overwhelmed after that. After reading about polygiene and people's results with it I was quite surprised by this.....

A local shop said it will air out just like merino when you take it off but they felt merino combats stink better when you're wearing the shirt.

Interesting. I'll try that out. I chimed in because I was so surprised how it performed for me compared with what others had said....now if it would only quit raining again :)
