Sitka pants recommendations

Greetings to all,

I called CamoFire today and found out they have some changes to their product offerings. I am a little bummed when I found out that Core4Element wont be readily available on CamoFire anymore, so I am looking at other options.

I decided to gear up with Sitka (Just trust me, I have reasons for going with Sitka)

I was eying a set of Core4 highline pants as my mid/midlight pants for late season antelope hunts, but now those are unavailable in my size(38 waist). I have a pair of Core4 Element pants for deer and elk late season, but I feel they are too heavy for late season antelope and some early season deer hunts. I hunt Wyoming/Montana/South Dakota.

I am looking for a suggestion for a Sitka pant that would fill that roll. I was looking at the 90%s, but those almost sound too heavy for what I am after, but maybe I'm wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Jeremy

If you are hard on gear, get the timberline pants. The Mountain pants are great, but the Timberline will last longer.

Timberline pants are the best hunting pant i have ever used. sitka attacks are the best pants ive ever worn. i find myself wearing the attacks much more as everyday pants then anything else. if its to warm for the timberlines i wear ascents or tibs.

So it sounds like the Mountain pants are the winner. Not to be that guy, but do they come in a solid color or are they only available in Optifade open country?

Only OC which is a crying shame. The timberlines do come in a cool grey color and the Accents come in a tan.

They will have the Timberlines in a moss green color in the 2014 line. I will be picking up a pair when they come out.

I have Kuiu attack pants and Sitka timberline pants.Prefer the timberlines for the waterproof butt , knees and suspenders.Heavier than the Kuiu both fit well no complaints with the quality of either pant.

I have the Mountain Pants and love them. However, when they wear out I'll be replacing them with Timberlines.

I have a Jetstream coat in the moss green, and it's a very sharp looking color.

Jason, What makes the Timberlines "Better" than the Mountain pants

Also, how is the fit on Sitka? Are they true waist size or jeans waist size?

The Timberline have waterproof seats and knees. The fabric and cut is the same.

I have ended up with a wet ass too many times when glassing for critters. As far as fit, I've found them to run slightly small. I am 6' and 195 pounds. I wear a 36 tall size. Normally I wear a 34 waist, but when I put them on I looked like I was wearing Open Country yoga pants.

If it means anything to anyone the fabric on the knees and seat is slightly loud. This comment is coming from just wearing them in the store as it was the only reason I didn't buy the pair I found in the cabelas bargain cave for half off.

I have a pair of the Timberline pants and they are great. They layer well which allows their use across a wide range. The fit is what I'd call trim but not slim. They fit my normal pant size, but they're not roomy or loose.

If you're looking for a solid color pant I just picked up a pair of OR Tremor pants. They're Windstopper softshell in a pretty light weight, but they've held up to busting alders hard. I love them and they'd be a good option all season, depending on layering. If you want a heavier solid-color pant that is just indestructible but still wears like jeans that stretch, if you can find an old pair of Mountain Hardwear Alchemy pants. Windstopper, heavy softshell. They're awesome. Comfy, stretch, solid-color and I think they'd stop a small-caliber bullet.

If anyone has a pair of MH Alchemy pants in XL or XXL and you want to sell them, I'd pay top dollar. Mine are great, but I could use a spare!

Do either the sitka mountain or timberline pants come with suspenders? CAnt find where it says whether or not they are included. It most looks like the timberlines come with suspenders...?
