This past weekend, we had a cold front pass thru N Georgia. Hunted 3 days. Temps in low to mid 20s in the mornings, warming to upper 40s at mid day. Ordinarily, would wear my Solitude jacket and bibs, but wanted to cut down on how much gear I was hauling and decided to layer up and see if I could get by with the Stratus jacket and bibs.

Was stationary hunting from the ground and generally stayed pretty warm. On top I wore long sleeve lightweight tee for baselayer, then heavyweight hoody, then Ambient jacket, Kuiu guide vest then Stratus jacket. For bottoms, wore core heavyweight long underwear, Equinox midi pants, then Stratus bibs. Despite the constant wind, stayed warm, although I think I was pushing the limits of the Stratus. Probably a little bulky to draw a bow, however, I was rifle hunting. My feet got a little cold from being stationary, but that was it.

That was my morning outfit, when things warmed up, took off the vest, the midi pants, the bibs and substituted a pair of Timberline pants. Actually was borderline too warm in the afternoons.

My takeaway from the weekend, is that the Stratus can handle low 20s, if properly layered and I need some warmer socks/boots. Was wearing 7mm Lacrosse Aerosports. No issues while walking, just after an hour or so, my toes would start tingling a bit.
