Sitka Ascent Pants vs Stone Glacier De Havilland

Looking at possibly picking up a pair of pants and have been looking at the sitka ascent and the stone glacier de havilland. Do they fit true to size? I know it depends on the company but I would like to know if they fit a little small or big as I have to order them in seeing as no where carries the stone glacier stuff up in Canada.

I cant speak for the SG pants, but the ascents fit true to size, order the size you wear in jeans. Ascents are a great lightweight pant, I believe the the SG pants are a thicker warmer pant which probably would be better for cooler weather.

Sitka pants fit true in my exsperence and the stone glacier de havilland pant come only in S, M, L, XL, and XXL.
I wouldn't compare the two pants though, the Ascent pants are a light weight hunting pant with a paper thin fabric that I use in August and a little in September before the morning dew gets to bad. The De havilland pant compares to Sitka's Mountain pant more in over all weight, driblet, and water resistant's. If you are looking for a nice early season pant and plan on doing a lot of miles under your boots in about 55 and up weather then Ascent pant all day but if you are looking for late October pants with low morning temps and a lot of stocking on your hands and knees then I would swing stone glacier de havilland pant.

Agreed. I run ascent in late aug. and early Sept. And Kuiu attack or guide later in the year. The SG pants I have never handled but I would guess they are more heavyweight that the ascent

I have the stone glacier pants and they are closer to a timberline fabric weight wise. They do have the side zips to dump heat which is a nice feature.
