Quick anecdotal comparison on these two jackets...

I purchased the 150g jacket back in July for a September elk hunt in the CO high country. I loved the jacket but it was just too warm for the harsh vertical ascents and descents. I found myself having to take it off quite a bit while we were active. It did work great for still-hunting in the cool dark timber.

I purchased the 100g jacket and sold the 150g because I wanted something that I could virtually live in on a hunt when the temps were appropriate. While I just received the 100g last night, I went on a nice dog walk/jog this morning in 40 degree temps and this thing is great. It seems the 100g is a near perfect amount of insulation. I also really like the hood. Heck, I'm sitting in my home office right now and still have the jacket on. Love this thing.

Thanks. I have the 150 and vest. I don’t like hoods on this type of piece. Still waiting for low enough temps to test

I agree. Have the Ambient 100 hoodie and jacket (no hood). Warm, comfortable and quiet. Sitka has a winner with these.
