I got it for my hybrid. I didn’t want to use the 30 cal anchor brake cap because it was adding an extra inch or inch and a half to the overall length of the can and the .46 cal flat cap was noticeably louder than a 30 cal cap.

Since I was going to buy a 30 cal cap anyways I figured for $35 I’d just get the titanium one. It’s a really nice cap and honestly at $35 it was a great value.

On the scythe I think people are considering them for shorter overall length and fewer spots for debris to collect and end up inside the suppressor when hunting. The factory cap is titanium so no issue there.
Thanks. I’ve decided to get one, but without having one in hand to examine I wasn’t sure what these end caps were replacing.

That’s a great link for suppressor analysis. TBACs cans didn’t fare so hot, so good on them for not burying the results.

I’m in the market for another can (Scythe in jail) for my 6.5 and 223 rifles. Targeting the best suppression I can get for the lowest price in a reasonably weighted can (around 10oz or less with DT). There’s a great deal on an Evo Harvester for $400. I wish that one was on the list.
STi. Got mine yesterday (haven’t shot yet), but it’s an oz under spec at 8.4oz ready to shoot. Based on volume it will be quiet. Right sale can be had for under $600

Where are you finding under $600 for the Scythe Ti?

Sorry. He’s got the scythe and looking for something else.
I could have been more clear. DD Enticer STi.

It’s a tad thinner and about .75” longer. I’d guess a tad more volume and very similar sound (both have 7 baffles). Weight is close.

Price is cheaper.

I compared both in person yesterday when I picked my STi up and looked at my Scythe in jail still.

I got the ti end cap in the mail. It’s going to need some krylon. Are there any considerations that should be taken with the paint choice based on how hot that thing is going to get?

I just painted my DT adapter with Brownells alumnahyde II. Turned out great. Haven’t tested on heat yet. Folks use it on barrels. I “assume” if I don’t shoot crazy strings it will be fine.

Kind of hoping it will be like the titanium exhaust tips you see on cars and get that cool blue tint over time.

I’m trying to decide between the Scythe and DD STI. Leaning towards the Scythe. Anyone have direct comparisons between them? Any deals out there?

Im still shooting to compare, only been out once since i posted this thread. Waiting for my hansohn bros TI caps to come for the scythe so i can compare to my other cans with the brake removed. I felt like the scythe was a bit quieter than the STI both times ive compared them tho. STI is slightly heavier and longer, scythe is slightly fatter. STI seems like the better bang for your buck depending on your intended host. Both are great cans

I haven’t compared both yet. But shot the STI for the first time this weekend. Think it compares well with omega and ultra 7.

If the scythe is close to same I’m excited (almost 1” shorter and 1oz lighter). Sti legit though. Fwiw mine came in at 8.4oz ready to shoot. Almost 1oz less than advertised.

It’s going to go on a 22” prc. I’ve done a ton of research. Sounds like the Scythe preforms slightly better with the S-TI being the better value.

Where I think the scythe will be nice is in recoil mitigation. I bet that single port brake helps and if I was shooting a magnum I’d be interested in trying the omega 3 port anchor brake on it. Might make it a little louder but I bet it helps a fair bit more on recoil.

Gotcha, well the scythe makes my 20" 300 prc hearing safe, the STI is right on the edge but not very comfortable for multiple shots. Im hoping the scythe will be a little quieter and lighter with the hansohn endcap.

I'll continue to update the thread with my thoughts as i shoot with it more, but those were my initial thoughts so far

Is the bravo direct thread mount that comes with the scythe the Ti one?

I fired my 20” 6 CM 70 times over the course of a couple hours while shooting in the mountains the other day. With a hat and hood on, it was around 15f, I felt no need for any hearing protection with the Scythe. Extremely happy with it.
