If you’ve experienced catastrophic failure of the Scythe Ti, please post the following:

1. Cartridge or cartridges used with approximate round count

2. Barrel length

3. Factory ammo, hand loads or both

4. Details of ammunition

5. Details of failure (to include failure point and pics)
People like to talk shit about Dead Air, but I haven’t heard of any failures of their Nomad TI

For those contemplating alternatives.
OCL Hydrogen K seems like a good option.

Hydrogen K
Length: 5 in
Weight: 6.7 oz

Scythe Ti
Length: 6.16 in
Weight: 7.3 oz

Not too many ~ 5 inch lightweight hunting cans out there.
Seems like most of the industry is focused on leveraging additive mfg for low back pressure designs.

Hydrogen K has been on my list for a while too. It metered out quite a bit better than most other 5” cans in the 2025 TBAC deal.

Just for some data, I ordered a scythe ti yesterday and serial number is approaching 54k. I knew about this thread, but everyone I know who has one has had no issues. They run a lot more rounds than myself. Time will tell if I get one of them biscuit cans.
So you knew about this thread and still bought one huh???

That’s a bold strategy my dude…..

Airlock Industries ZG 7mm is 5.5" x 6.6oz and meters comparative to the 7" cans.

Just adding another data point. I have about 300 rounds of mixed 300blk subs and supers through mine on an 8" mini fix and have not had any issues, so far.

I think the industry as a whole is chasing the short barrel AR market. Lw hunting can seems to be a smaller market, but I think one for more growth as people realize how much hunting unsuppressed damages hearing and can are easy to get.

Has anyone damaged their barrel crown from the Scythe blowing up?
Seems like shrapnel moves down range but i'm wondering if anyone has seen any damage.

I dont think the "within reason" thing is that new. I never got the impression they were saying they'd be ok on a 10" 300 RUM.

SilencerCo originally stated, marketed, pushed, no barrel length restrictions. Then it became within reason as stated in that video by SilencerCo. As recently as a couple minutes ago they are still publishing no barrel length restrictions.

Yeah, that is dumb.

Also, no more SilencerCo cans. Up until this, they were the only cans I owned. Their piss poor handling of this has put them in the same category as Sig. Lifestyle brands that put marketing ahead of taking care of customers and responsibly handling faulty products.

To those that have lawsuits good luck.

Well I sold my Scythe and my old Saker762 today, full disclosure about the Scythe’s issues obviously. $1000 for both.

Just in time for the Airlock industries pre-order. So glad to no longer having to worry about my main hunting can grenading.
How did you sell yours? To a private party, a dealer,…?
