Next week's bull elk hunt will have to be unsuppressed. 2nd round of the day thru 7PRC 22 inch barrel shooting federal 155 terminal ascent. Overall 80 7mm PRC rounds, 80 30-06 and 80 270 Winchester all factory ammo. Purchased November 202420251025_115706.jpg

Out of curiosity and not sure it makes a difference but how many of you are running qd muzzle brakes under your scythe or just direct thread? Mine is still chugging along on a 22” 6.5 prc and wonder if the brake is making a difference in longevity.

Direct thread plus I babied my suppressor. Knowing its history always let it cool 3 minutes or so between shots but still blew up.

I've been trying to stay out of this one... I liked my lightweight little scythe-ti...

But alas, mine went kaboom today.

It's had 500 or so rounds of 223rem/5.56 through it (16 inch barrel), and 50 or so 22 creedmoor (18 inch barrel). All factory ammo.

All bolt action, never more than 3 rounds at a time before it has a chance to cool.

Today was 22 creedmoor, and it went on the 7th round after about 30 minutes since the 6th shot.

No baffle strike.

Serial number just above 2500

Mine has been living uneventfully with light use on a 243 with 24" barrel. 22 creed has slightly more powder volume than the 243. I'm going to baby this can until it pops or SilencerCo issues a recall.

22cm has less case capacity than a 243. Although I would probably guess the 22cm has a high muzzle VS the 243 depending on load/powder type.

Just had a Scythe TI catastrophic failure.

SN. SYT30- 33XXX
300 PRC 24" barrel.
Lapua brass, Berger 210, N570 CCI 250
Direct thread only, with only 283 rounds through it.
Rifle is used for hunting. It's only ever seen three round groups and allowed to cool everytime.

Ambient temp was 60F.

Surprised how thin the TI walls of the can body are. Was more surprised when 2/3 of the can flew 75 yards. Thought my rifle blew up.
Silencerco sent me a brand new can. Four day turn around time. Never received an email or phone call from customer service though.
