Looking at buying my first suppressor for my tikka 6.5cm that will be chopped to 16-18”. I’m looking for good all around performance without breaking the bank and this one seems to check all the boxes.

Any good or bad experiences? Other suggestions in the $600 range?

I have a sample size of 1 but I am happy with my Resilient Jolene S. All titanium, 8.5 oz, ~$650 but you can probably get them for a little less.

Other ones that I looked at were the Harvester Evo and AB Warthog/A10. Went with the Jolene S for the Ti and weight.

Got one on a Sig Cross. Seems like its a pretty good can.
Not the most quiet but I'm still shooting the 30 cal. end cap. Its still perfectly good for hunting applications. I still wear ear pro at the range though. Seems like it gives off plenty of heat mirage but it does cool off pretty quick.
Don't notice any accuracy issues. But I'm only 300ish rounds into it.

There are tons of great cans out there. Take a look at a bunch before deciding.
and it probably won't be your only can. Everyone I know that said "I'm only buying one." ended up buying at least one more. 😁

I've been researching heavily and I decided on the scythe. However, for hunting weight/length, performance, and price you should look at the diligent defense s-ti, raptor 8, and resilient Jolene and Jolene S

Length isn’t a huge issue for me, my hunting shots are 200 and less so I’m probably chopping to 16.5” that would put me at the equivalent of a 26”barrel

I use a tripod In pretty good sized box blinds so that length isn’t a issue

My biggest concern is just getting hearing safe. My kids do most all the shooting and I want to lose hearing protection for hunting situations so we can talk through the shot process.

We use over the ear protection with microphones now, it works but it’s not ideal

In that case, a DD L-ti or a raptor 8 or 10 with the reflex may be your best option. The raptors sound awesome because they apparently are very quiet without the reflex and you can use the reflex for range or shooting with kids to make them even quieter.

Read through these. There's great info on quite a few suppressors

I’ve never looked at the raptor suppressor, it’s a pretty interesting design

I bet the 10 baffle with the longest blast chamber would be really nice on a 6.5cm

Otter creek and TBAC also make 6.5 bore suppressors. I would guess one of the L lengths in 6.5 would be just about as quiet as you can get on a 6.5cm.

how does the AB A10 stack up, and does it help mitigate the gas from a gas gun?

I said I would only buy one do it all suppressor too. Once you get one you may change your mind. I just filed another form 4. It's really nice to have dedicated cans for different calibers.

It's a great suppressor, especially for the price.

It's not hearing safe however, no suppressor truly is with supersonic ammo.

Something like a Diligent Defense Enticer L-ti will suppress to a lower dB level, and is still a very good value buy.

And no need for a 6.5mm aperture. Just get a .30 cal can.

It seems like the material (titanium) and size (length and diameter) are what's driving the price of suppressors beyond the $800 mark.

Like the OP, I too am interested in one that's $600 or less that does a great job of recoil and sound reduction. Do they make inexpensive suppressors that do this but run cheap because they are too heavy and long/bulky?

For the budget conscious, spending an extra $600 for Titanium's 'xyz oz weight reduction' does not make sense if a single Llama rental can carry 80 pounds of my cheap'n heavy can and other crap for $500.

BTW, wouldn't a heavier can serve a similar benefit to a bull barrel to reduce recoil and increase accuracy?

The Omega is a great can, especially for the price (I think its around $600 at Capital Armory).

Another great value suppressor is the Diligent Defense Enticer L-ti, which can be found for around ~$800. That one is Ti. Their steel versions are cheaper (Enticer L is ~$600), which will obviously be heavier.

I don't think you will see any real appreciable benefits in precision increase between Titanium or Steel suppressors.

The biggest difference between those materials when it comes to suppressors is weight, and durability. Titanium is more brittle, and typically is not suitable for very demanding firing schedules (think full auto), unless its designed for it. For precision rifle use, the only real difference is weight and cost.

OP asked for other suggestions in the $600 range, this is one out of Aluminum and claims to be heat resistant:

I've heard mixed things about Griffin. I would also be a bit weary about aluminum, though apparently a lot of European suppressor companies use it as a material.

For $600 and if wanting to stick to titanium, you can't really beat the Omega. I would take the Omega over the Griffin any day.

Another option worth looking at is the Otter Creek Labs Polonium-30, which is $532. It's steel, full auto rated, but not too heavy at a little over ~13 ozs:

Or Resilient Jolene at $650, this is ~8.5 ozs: https://www.silencershop.com/silencers/7-62mm-rifle/resilient-suppressors-jolene-s.html

I like names like polonium and omega as opposed to women who steal men like guns and hunting tend to do.

OCL and SiCo are great companies. Hard to go wrong with them.

I don't know much about Resilient, they are new on the scene.
