Silencer Central Lobbying Against Removing Suppressors from NFA?

As asked in another post, maybe this deserves it's own thread.

Looks like Silencer Central has been caught Lobbying against legislation to remove supressors from the NFA.



This has exploded on X and elsewhere. Silencer Central has put out a statement denying this.

Man, those are some hard-core weasel words in their post. And it gives them the ability to drive an absolute truck of lies through the loopholes between truths.

"We support any viable legislative proposals...that would enhance or expand...to legally use...not lobbying against the HPA..."

NONE of this is saying they fully support removing suppressors from the NFA.

Unless they say that explicitly, this is just a salad of weasel-words to hide what they're already legally documented in having done - which is lobby to keep suppressors under a tax-stamp regime.

I read through it and it sounded to me like they were trying to have a portion of the $200 stamp go towards conservation and outdoor recreation.

Not necessarily “anti removal from NFA” but more of a “if we can’t get it removed then maybe we can have some of the money go towards conservation”

And that would be a noble effort at the time. But at this time that's not on the side of 2nd amendment advocacy.

Their weak response that as said earlier in this thread left a lot of open interpretation and loopholes for themselves.

Silencer Shop and Capital Armory (who are arguably their biggest competitors and have equal or more to lose) both signed on and fully support delisting supressors and removing the tax, openly supporting the Hearing Protection Act.

Watch the video linked above for more educated speculation and rumors. I say that as for now these are circumstantial and hearsay. But are not a good look.

Wouldn’t their response say that if that’s what they were doing?
