Silencer Central Banish Backcountry.

How long ago was that? I’ve bought all of my silencers from silencer central, the first one was like 15 months towards the end of the paper form era. Next 2 took 200 days, next one was 99 days and the last one was 21 days.

A little over a year ago. I got mine right be to ATF started pumping out the trusts. I waited on the ATF for 4 months and 2months on silencer central.

Im to the point I’m going to be waiting on buying another suppressor until I see how this big beautiful bill turns out. I’m hopeful but it’s the government so my hopes arent high.

SC will never get another penny from me for a couple reasons as stated above but.. I do have the backcountry and Although it is loud and has zero recoil reduction on large recoil rifles, It has been great on my 223. It has about 2,000 rounds through it, and about 1000 of those came in a four day period shooting 10-20 round groups back to back, let it cool for 10-15 min and do it again, all day. Has held up great for that.

I have the Banish Backcountry and it has been great. The weight and length is more important to me than sound reduction. It definitely takes the edge off the blast. My 6 ARC sounds about like a .22 LR and my 6.5 CM is not bad.

I wish the backcountry was available when I got my banish 30. It came out while I was waiting. The banish 30 is a horrible silencer, if I could, id trade it for literally any other silencer.

Out of the banish lineup, the backcountry and the banish 22 are the only good ones, they are overpriced though. I think the banish 22 is the most expensive 22 silencer on the market.

Not really a valid comparison. I would rather have a short, light can that takes the edge off a rifle blast vs a longer, heavier can that has the most sound reduction.

Correct, with all the options out there you can get a silencer to meet your exact needs. The smallest, lightest ones aren’t going to be the most quiet. The quietest ones aren’t going to be something you enjoy packing around. Nobody is putting a TBAC 338 on their hiking rifle and I doubt many pure target shooters choose the scythe or backcountry.

How so? For a backcountry rifle, should we pick the absolute quietest silencers regardless of weight/length? Or should we be buying equipment that fits a role we need?

Definetly that guy. I guess if shoot about anything if I got it for free or half off. I saw some Instagram hunter unboxing like 4 silencer central silencers saying how great they are. I’m sure he wasn’t paying full price.

If he said equally important i would have completely agreed.

For a backcountry rifle, should we pick the absolute quietest silencers regardless of weight/length? Or should we be buying equipment that fits a role we need?

Absolutely not. Suppressors should match the mission to some extent, no question. But sound suppression still needs to be a part of that equation. Different tools for different jobs, sure. But I just think it’s funny how often I see guys pushing the Banish Backcountry when it’s obvious they’ve never used anything else. That can is a marketing success, not a performance success. You’re paying a premium for the name, not the suppression.
And not to mention, Silencer Central’s customer service lately has been a train wreck, long hold times, unanswered emails, and delays even after ATF approval. It’s not just that can that underdelivers.

I bought one at the first of this year to put on a 20” 30-06. I like it so far. Sound reduction seems decent and it does slow the recoil/muzzle jump down noticeably to me. I haven’t shot it without hearing protection yet though.

The only other rifle can I have is a dead air nomad original. I got the backcountry to be shorter and lighter and thinner to stay out of the scope picture. It’s purely a hunting can for my lightweight rifle. I doubt my next can will be another, but that’s mostly because I just want to try other things. No complaints from me so far.

I read a lot hate and a lot of praise about the banish 30 before I bought one. Now that I’ve had it and shot it, I have no real need for something else. Maybe there are quieter or lighter ones, or even both. But, at the end of the day it makes my 300 wm hearing safe for several rounds, is about 9oz, and significantly reduced the recoil. I have had no issues taking off the end cap or it coming loose with DT attachment. I would note, I have not tried it in the 9” (long config) as I have no further wants with using it has a hunting suppressor.

What I mean is that the threaded front cap and the loose baffle stack are much faster, easier and cheaper than producing fully welded silencers (like a TBAC ultra 7), they throw in a 2” tube that threads on and make you think you’re lucky to be able to go from 7 to 9 inches and then take it apart to clean it.

Very few people switch back and forth from the short to long configuration and disassembling the silencer to clean it simply isn’t something that needs to be done.

It’s just cheaper to thread and make a cap than welding it properly. What the banish 30 offers is not features or upgrades, it’s ways they cut corners to save money…..but the damn thing still costs as much as a good silencer.

My banish 30 is just on my truck/boat gun, it basically lives in the floor of my truck. It’s also permanently fused into the 7” configuration, I can’t get it apart. There is something rattling around inside of it too but I can’t get it apart to investigate.

Waste of money 100% screw the banish 30.

Well it’s welded in place and the baffle stack seems to be loose inside the tube. I can hear something when I shake it a bit. I thought maybe it was a chunk of scale stuck in there but after soaking it for a few days in clr it’s still there, any scale would be gone.

You are sort of right though. It’s basically a louder, heavier version of my tbac ultra 7 now.
