If a guy wanted to shoot 500 and in, would this scope be an adequate option for a "traditional" bolt-action hunting rifle using the reticle for holdover?

It’s way too soon to know if the scope will end up being reliable. The design could work for most hunting, though it’s expensive and certainly isn’t the optimum choice for normal hunting.

Sheesh... >$1500, 34mm, 1-6?
Does not seem competitive in the current LPVO market. Trijicon credo FFP can be had for ~$800 with careful shopping around. NX8, PA PlxC seem to blow this out of the water too. Delta Stryker or Vortex Razor G2E in SFP too. I guess we'll see how it does.

I’m curious about some of the other Sightron stuff now. Any experience with the Sightron S1 1.75-5x32mm G2? I’m wondering if it’s any good, or if it’s just a rebranded Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5x32. What else is there in lightweight/large FOV category? Certainly not the SFWA 2.5-10, that unobtanium.
