So I've had my Mathews v3 31 for about 3 weeks and need some help after sighting it in. I'm running a fast eddie 5 pin and I noticed a good portion of my sight ring was blocked by the riser when I sighted in my pins. I'm a fairly new archer and my last bow was a hoyt powermax with a black gold sight and I didn't have this issue with it. Is this normal with mathews bows or spott hogg sights and is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance

Are you using the largest ring available that comes with the sight? Part of my scope housing ring is blocked as well. However, I shoot with both eyes open so visually when I am shooting it doesn’t appear that way. Anyways, check your center shot like mentioned and if that’s good check to see if it’s just a small portion of the outside of your housing if so, maybe not a big deal as long as you can still align the inner ring with your peep. Lastly, if your sight has the 3 different size rings that you can screw on the front, try a smaller one.

Had same issue with my V3. Took a top hat kit and a while at the Archery shop, but we got it dialed in!

I switched to the smaller ring and this is basically what I see through the peep after sighting in. I just knocked an arrow and drew back and arrow is center of the berger hole is that the correct way to check? Sorry I'm a newbie

I have the same sight. Got the same issue.

Mine is on a Hoyt Axius Ultra. At first it was bugging me. But now it's something I don't even think about anymore.

I have the smaller MRT ring on there and it's just fine.

That’s funny I have a Powermax, and have the same issue. Always thought it was odd too but just learned to ignore it.

The centershot is from the inside of your riser to the center of the arrow.

Think of the Berger hole as locating the arrow up and down, the centershot locates it left and right.

No. Measure the distance from your riser to the center of your arrow when it’s in the ready to shoot position on your rest. Should be around 13/16-7/8 inch. That’s the same way my spot Hogg sight looks. Start shooting with both eyes open and you won’t notice it. Or just forget about it.

My vxr was like that with my fast Eddie. Want to say its still there with my MBG too. I just don't see it anymore.

Mine is the same way on the last two bows I've had. Hoyt RX3 Ultra and Bowtech Reckoning. Just ignore it. I shoot both eyes open so I don't notice it when shooting.

You think that’s bad? After shimming my cams with the HBX spacers to get a bullet hole I’m really frustrated with the outcome of my sight picture. Keep in mind that I have to take this bow back to the pro shop as they do not have my 1st, 2nd and 3rd axes 100% dialed-in. They are close, but not 100% perfect yet…

So once they are adjusted and level, those changes will actually make my sight picture even worse! So back to the crux of this post - my RX5 Ultra’s riser blocking my sight picture… I have 2 issues which I’m hopeful my dude at archery learning center can fix both :

1. the way the riser is shaped it splits wider and wider towards the top.
my solution : without dropping draw weight, I could shoot 200 grains heavier arrow. I’m hopeful that will drop my 20 yard “zero” so that it’s that much further down on my slider sight post. THE LOWER MY ZERO THE FURTHER AWAY IT IS FROM WHERE RX5 RISER SPLITS AND THE FURTHER AWAY IT WILL BE FROM WHERE MY RISER KILLS MY SIGHT PIC!

2. And this is the one that is more out of my wheelhouse. Possibly rest adjustment and cam adjustment or a combination of the two with some prayer to the archery gods/archery black magic…hopefully that will slightly tweak my centershot which will then in-turn moving my sight picture away from my riser.

the pics I’ve seen of other peoples sight pictures on this thread are frustrating but IMHO not bad. I’m starting to ramble but basically the pics don’t do justice to just how bad they are. Mine doesn’t look much worse than y’all’s But at full draw, a little over 1/3 of my sight picture is behind my rx5 riser. So close that my cable guard is about 1/4” to the left of my pins! (I’m a lefty). To pay this much for a bow and get this is absolutely infuriating

Shooting with 2 eyes open was probably the best thing I ever did to improve my archery shooting
